Reopen a saved game and step through its move history. Basic match analysis includes a material chart, timeline, one-reply alternatives and board projections. It remains free.
Bring a game into Study
Use Study to import, reopen, export and delete saved Study games. Start from a position you want to revisit and request a deeper review. The on-device search has a limited budget: its suggestion is not a guarantee of the best move or a winning probability.
Practise the decision
Personal practice turns saved positions into exercises. Free Study includes one newly completed deeper review per UTC day and three new practice exercises per UTC week. Previously sampled exercises remain replayable. Plus expands these capabilities within storage limits.
Give discoveries a home
Plus lets you edit Study titles, notes and collections, and view local review and practice counts in insights. These counts describe activity, not a chess skill rating. If Plus expires, your saved work is retained and existing notes remain readable.
Know what is saved where
Study is stored on your device and is scoped to the current app account where applicable. It is separate from saved-game iCloud sync. Export work you want to keep elsewhere. Account deletion clears that account’s local Study data; deleting the app can remove local data.
